Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 467 neighbors in Abuja. I help organize it with 7 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for serving food, washing up and welcoming guests. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry!

    • Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.

Best of luck. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Abuja.
