Join the Refugee Welcome Picnic: Charlene needs helpers on Thursday
Our small team in George is running the Refugee Welcome Picnic and needs volunteers for set-up, serving and clean-up.
🇿🇦 George, Western Cape, South Africa152 views
Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 384 neighbors in George. I help organize it with 8 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for registration, sorting donations and carrying boxes. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.
Thank you for reading my story.

Thinking of you and your family, Charlene. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Port Harcourt.
