Join the Free Community Meal: Jose needs helpers on Tuesday

We are short of hands for the Free Community Meal; can you spare a morning?

Every year the Free Community Meal brings together 102 neighbors in Cebu City. I help organize it with 5 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for registration, sorting donations and carrying boxes. Shifts are four hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Hope you get there. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Bucaramanga.

    • Rooting for you, Jose. Your post was clear and honest

      • Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Sent it to 15 people at work.

        • more neighborhoods should do this. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

          • good luck, Jose. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Hawassa but we're thinking of you.
