Every year the Free Bike Repair Day brings together 489 neighbors in Los Angeles. I help organize it with 6 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for stewarding, first-aid support and clean-up. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

This is the kind of person who restores your faith in humanity. They didn't just offer help; they genuinely cared about my wellbeing and followed through on every commitment.

  • Thinking of you and your family. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 19 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best!

    • good luck. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Polokwane.

      • stay strong, Deepa. Looking forward to the next update. Take care

        • So sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
