Jayden received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A long illness left Jayden short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the construction firm, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,900.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $630
• Rent arrears (5 months): $2,000
• Utilities in arrears: $270
Thanks for being kind about this.

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 3 people at work. Greetings from Paarl.
