I'm Janet, 17, in Form 6. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study psychology. I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until August. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hope it all works out, Janet. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.

      • Take care, Janet. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors.

        • Thinking of you. Study hard! We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

          • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Bogotá
