Jacaranda Park needs a playground - Brooks's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Mobile are raising $3,450 for a playground at Jacaranda Park.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,450.
It will serve about 425 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Materials: $2,550
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Safety equipment and signage: $310
• Tools hire and delivery: $380

Good news. Because of your gifts ($772 in total) the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
