In December I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. My oncology team at Ubud Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in March. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 31, I worked as a farmer until December, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Ubud Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,050 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $450 • Scans and lab work: $175 • Transport to Ubud Cancer Centre: $165 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $135 • Household costs while unable to work: $125 Please ask me anything in the questions section. Quick update: $51 raised so far (5%). I made the first payment toward chemotherapy and medication not covered. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
