Kartika lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Malang Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400. Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment Kartika could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $400 goes: • pair of hearing aids: $280 • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $45 Every share and every dollar helps.

        • Thinking of you, Candra. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
