Independence for Courtney: prosthetic leg
A prosthetic leg would give Courtney independence - we are $6,100 away.
🇬🇧 Birmingham, England, United Kingdom3,646 views
Courtney lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at the Birmingham Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,100.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Courtney could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $6,100 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $5,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $290
• Delivery and set-up: $85
• First-year servicing plan: $225
I hope life is good to you.
- Carol
