I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Grenoble Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,950.
My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $6,950 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $6,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $230
• Delivery and set-up: $60
• First-year servicing plan: $160
