Ian has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Ian can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Ian's family will cook lunch for the team. Thank you for reading my story.

  • take care, Declan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

    • hope things get better soon. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. It's not much but it's yours

      • Thinking of you and your family, Declan. Hope you get there. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Blessings.

        • Thinking of you and your family, Declan. Get well soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
