House fire that spread across the block in Dwarka: help the Old Town district rebuild
The house fire that spread across the block damaged 40 homes in the Old Town district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Old Town district on 31 March. My home was one of 40 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $70
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $120
• Roofing sheets and timber: $670
• Tools and labor for repairs: $240
Thank you so much.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Jewel?
Thank you. If you're in Dwarka I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
You're not alone. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
Sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. Don't give up. All the best.
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings
Good luck, Jewel. This could happen to any of us. Love from Uberlândia.
Rooting for you. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My husband and I read this together.
