My mother Tomoko has been accepted for treatment at Setagaya Children's Hospital in Setagaya, starting on Saturday in November. We live 278 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 4 weeks. Two of us would stay: Tomoko and me. We can contribute $120 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Tomoko will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Wishing you peace, Junko. Shared this with my family. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.

    • hope things get better soon, Junko. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Setagaya.

      • Sending love. Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best

Best of luck, Junko. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.

          • Thinking of you. Hope this works out for you. After 18 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
