Home care fund for Leonardo in San Jose
Leonardo, 87, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $4,300 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for me, who's 87. After a fall and hip fracture Leonardo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Leonardo desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Leonardo worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $4,300 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $2,850
• Medication and prescriptions: $680
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $230
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $540
