Het can't leave home - help build a ramp

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Thiruvananthapuram.

Het has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Het can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Het's family will cook lunch for the team. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

keep going. Your post was clear and honest. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Thiruvananthapuram.

    • so sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Columbus this morning.

      • Wishing you peace, Tejas. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Yogyakarta
