I make my living with my ride-share car. 3 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $150 goes: • Road tax and insurance renewal: $20 • Labor charges: $40 • gearbox replacement (parts): $90 Every share and every dollar helps.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Henok.

    • stay strong, Henok. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Addis Ababa

      • You're not alone. Small businesses are the heart of Addis Ababa. Hope you're open again soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
