Mahmoud, my brother, passed away on 24 September after a short illness. He was 85 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $950 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 2 October. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Mahmoud to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Zagazig hospice. Where the $950 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $620 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $260 • Transport of the deceased: $45 • Memorial gathering for the family: $25 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
