Sakai
For twelve years I have run a small grocery stall in Sakai. In July, a fire in the building took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $1,650 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $340 • Replacing a cold-storage unit: $1,100 • Working capital for the first month: $210 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Yuki

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($40 in total) the plan for replacing a cold-storage unit is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Thinking of you and your family. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Sent it to 11 people at work. Take care.

Praying for you. Small businesses are the heart of Sakai. Hope you're open again soon. Wish I lived closer to Iztapalapa so I could bring a meal. Blessings.

Thinking of you and your family, Yuki. Hope the shop reopens soon. Put this on a community board in Aberdeen this morning.
