Chinedu, my brother, passed away on 24 June after a long fight with kidney disease. He was 89 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $450 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 1 July. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Chinedu to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt. Where the $450 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $250 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $120 • Transport of the deceased: $40 • Memorial gathering for the family: $40 Thanks for being kind about this. - Yinka

Updates from Yinka

  1. Small update. $109 so far, I met with the funeral home and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($29 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
