Istanbul
Yasemin was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December. The oncology team at the Istanbul Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Yasemin is 40, worked as a hairdresser until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Istanbul Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,750 goes: • Scans and lab work: $320 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $240 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,050 • Transport to the Istanbul Oncology Institute: $140 Thank you for reading my story.
