Viktor was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in July. The surgeon at Södertälje Regional Medical Center recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,750 short.
my husband has been in and out of Södertälje Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Viktor struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Viktor won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.

what exactly is the $7,750 for?
Sure. The biggest one is surgeon and anesthesia fees, $3,150. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
