Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 26 families, and now we feed 112 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Boston market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $970
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,250
• Baby formula and diapers: $310
• Refrigeration and electricity: $320
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. After 19 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Porto Alegre

wishing you the best. More neighborhoods should do this. Wish I lived closer to Tucson so I could bring a meal. Take care
