Şule was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in July. The oncology team at Kadıköy Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Şule is 55, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kadıköy Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Transport to Kadıköy Cancer Centre: $250
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,000
• Household costs while unable to work: $375
