Siva is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at Pune State College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $500.
The registrar has said Siva can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Siva has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Siva would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Siva isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Pune State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $500 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $280
• Final term tuition: $160
• Exam and lab fees: $30
• Textbooks and materials: $30
