Help Sawsan get back to civilian life: housing deposit and training

Sawsan served four years in the infantry; $1,650 would cover a vocational welding course and tools.

I served four years in the infantry and was discharged in 2025 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $1,650. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $1,650 goes: • Essential household items: $220 • Housing deposit and first month: $990 • Transport to appointments: $440 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sawsan

Updates from Sawsan

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($252 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. 11% there. I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 8% now ($125). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts.
