Help Samanthi patch the roof before the monsoon
The roof at Samanthi's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a home-care aide living in Colombo. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $800, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending good thoughts, Samanthi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Caruaru so I could bring a meal. All the best.
So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. Love from Nairobi
So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out.
