Bakersfield
Sachin is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Bakersfield Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,750. The registrar has said Sachin can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sachin has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sachin would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Sachin isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Bakersfield Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $5,750 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $2,650 • Final term tuition: $2,600 • Exam and lab fees: $145 • Textbooks and materials: $355 I hope life is good to you. - Swati

Updates from Swati

  1. Small update. $1,882 so far, I met with the university and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Update from Bakersfield: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 31% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($593 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Keep going. This could happen to any of us. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care.
