Rotimi is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at the Kano Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650. The registrar has said Rotimi can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Rotimi has a first-class average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Rotimi would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Rotimi isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $650 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $170 • Final term tuition: $420 • Exam and lab fees: $15 • Textbooks and materials: $45 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.
