Help Rasha with an electrician's skills: dangerous exposed wiring in two rooms

Rasha has dangerous exposed wiring in two rooms, and can't afford a licensed electrician to fix it; a few hours of professional help would make the home safe.

In July an inspector told me that my home has dangerous exposed wiring in two rooms. It's a safety risk for me and my elderly mother. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $1,100 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed electrician who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $290. The job should take about six hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're an electrician and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Keep going, Rasha. Hope this works out for you. Don't give up. God bless

    • Best of luck. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

      • best of luck. Shared it with a few friends. After 17 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

        • It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Yekaterinburg this morning.

You're not alone, Rasha. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. It's not much but it's yours. Blessings
