Help Pilar patch the roof before winter
Pilar, a retired bus driver, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Detroit.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Detroit. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $5,250, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Rooting for you, Pilar. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better.
Sending love. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
praying for you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out.
good luck. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
Thinking of you, Pilar. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
