Pape was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in February. The surgeon at The Hague University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,800 short.
my father has been in and out of The Hague University Hospital since February. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Pape struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Pape won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
