Help Omkar pay for gallbladder removal at Saint Luke Hospital
A scheduled gallbladder removal in May is out of reach without help covering $1,300 of the cost.

Omkar was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in February. The surgeon at Saint Luke Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,600, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,300 short.
my husband has been in and out of Saint Luke Hospital since February. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Omkar struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Omkar won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $500
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $550
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45
• Post-operative medication: $35
• Physiotherapy sessions: $130
• Travel and lodging for the family: $40
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Take care. Hope you get there. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Toronto.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Omkar
Surgeon and anesthesia fees is $500 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
Good luck. Your post was clear and honest. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Durgapur.
