In July an inspector told me that my home has a failed boiler with no heating. It's a safety risk for me and my two small children. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $1,450 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed roofer who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $190. The job should take about six hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a roofer and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending strength. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.

    • You're not alone. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care

      • Sending good thoughts, Nisha. Hope you get there. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.

        • Hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. After 19 years in construction I know how hard it is to ask for anything

          • Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
