Help Naveen keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Lafayette.
🇺🇸 Lafayette, Louisiana, United States2,797 views
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Friday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 323 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lafayette market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $280
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $850
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $920
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Rooting for you. Great idea, hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Sending strength, Naveen. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Mandaue donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Lafayette.
Rooting for you, Naveen. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Tangier!
Good luck, Naveen. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope September is when things finally get easier.
Sending good thoughts. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Reading
