Musyoka was diagnosed with stomach cancer in July. The oncology team at the Nairobi Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Musyoka is 32, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Nairobi Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,150 goes: • Transport to the Nairobi Oncology Institute: $200 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85 • Scans and lab work: $95 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $770 Thanks for being kind about this.
