Help Mugisha patch the roof before the next storm
The roof at Mugisha's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.
🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania991 views
I'm a widowed grandmother living in Kinondoni. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $710, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
thanks for sharing this. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
thinking of you, Mugisha. Hope this works out for you. Blessings.
hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Auckland so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Kinondoni
wishing you the best, Mugisha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. All the best
