Mohan was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June. The oncology team at Kanpur University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Mohan is 47, worked as a nurse until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kanpur University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $250
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $980
