Oakland

Michelle is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Oakland University, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,450. The registrar has said Michelle can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Michelle has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Michelle would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Michelle isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Oakland University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $5,450 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,900 • Final term tuition: $3,400 • Textbooks and materials: $150 Thank you for reading my story. - Everett
