Micah is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at Laredo University, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,500.
The registrar has said Micah can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Micah has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Micah would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Micah isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Laredo University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,500 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,750
• Final term tuition: $1,200
• Exam and lab fees: $300
• Textbooks and materials: $250
