Mi-young is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Seongnam State College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,800. The registrar has said Mi-young can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Mi-young has a 3.6 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Mi-young would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Mi-young isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Seongnam State College bursar's office.
