Help Melanie patch the roof before the autumn rains
The roof at Melanie's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a home-care aide living in Bronx. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $6,000, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thinking of you and your family, Melanie. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. God bless
Sending strength, Melanie. Hope this works out for you. Sent it to 38 people at work. All the best.
