In April I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. My oncology team at Dwarka Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in June. I was told to expect about 4 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 45, I worked as a primary school teacher until April, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Dwarka Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $810
• Scans and lab work: $180
• Transport to Dwarka Regional Medical Center: $110
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $90
• Household costs while unable to work: $210

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Jyoti
It's all in the list in the story. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the big one at $810, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. It helps to be asked.
