Help me pay for gallbladder removal at Bakersfield Community Hospital
A scheduled gallbladder removal in August is out of reach without help covering $7,300 of the cost.

In April I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal. My surgeon at Bakersfield Community Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for August. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $9,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $7,300 short.
Doctors at Bakersfield Community Hospital told me a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without gallbladder removal. I work as a seamstress, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $9,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a seamstress have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
