Help me pay for cataract surgery at Southampton Orthopedic Institute
A scheduled cataract surgery in December is out of reach without help covering $6,750 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Southampton Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for December. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $13,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $6,750 short.
Doctors at Southampton Orthopedic Institute told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $13,500 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $6,750 goes:
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,450
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,350
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $310
• Physiotherapy sessions: $300
• Post-operative medication: $340
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
