Mark was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in April. The oncology team at Dasmariñas Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Mark is 49, worked as a taxi driver until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dasmariñas Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $270
• Transport to Dasmariñas Regional Medical Center: $100
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $650
• Household costs while unable to work: $330
