Help Lola patch the roof before the rainy season
Lola, a school janitor, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Lagos.

I'm a school janitor living in Lagos. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $910, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Hang in there, Lola. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
Thanks for sharing this, Lola. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
a secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. It's not much but it's yours
gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
