Lieke was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in March. The oncology team at the Rotterdam Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Lieke is 30, worked as a bank teller until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Rotterdam Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,350 goes:
• Transport to the Rotterdam Oncology Institute: $780
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,000
• Scans and lab work: $1,350
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,220
