Help Kezia through 6 rounds of treatment for stomach cancer
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Tamale Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇬🇭 Ghana825 views
Kezia was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at Tamale Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Kezia is 41, worked as a shop owner until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tamale Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $490
• Scans and lab work: $230
• Transport to Tamale Regional Medical Center: $65
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95
• Household costs while unable to work: $120
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Kathmandu so I could bring a meal.
How is Kezia doing now?
You're not alone, Kwesi. Wishing Kezia a smooth procedure and a full recovery.

sending good thoughts. Get well soon. After 27 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Tamale

Thinking of you and your family, Kwesi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
A colleague of mine might know someone for this in Northern. I'll ask around and let you know.
