Kelvin was diagnosed with colon cancer in November. The oncology team at the Tema Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Kelvin is 57, worked as a tailor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Tema Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,400 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Transport to the Tema Oncology Institute: $105 • Scans and lab work: $170 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
